Diabetes and How to Overcome Your A1C

Since I was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in December 2011, I have felt depressed about having to deal with my new disease. No one in my family has Type 1 Diabetes, so I asked my Doctor, "Why Me?" Well, my answer was Autoimmune Disease. There is nothing I could have done to prevent this disease. What is Autoimmune Disease? Our bodies were designed with an immune system's white blood cells that protect our bodies fight off any bad bacteria, viruses, cancer cells and any other abnormal tissues or blood dormant in our body. The immune system produces antigens that destroy these harmful substances. With Autoimmune Disorder, the body cannot tell the difference between healthy organisms and harmful antigens, so it destroys healthy body tissue. It's been a lot to cope with! There are several other conditions to worry about getting with Autoimmune Disease like:
I am already showing signs of Hoshimoto's Thyroiditis, so my Doctor is going to put me on medication for that. It is very important to eat healthy food and exercise regularly. My Doctor is very impressed with my progress that she shares my results with her patients. In January 2012 my A1C was 13.6 and now is 6.1. Two things I have done for myself to make this happen are clean eating and exercising daily, but my secret weapon is my Shakeology. Since drinking this very dense, complete nutrition health drink, I started seeing my Hemoglobin A1C lower very quickly and my cholesterol dropped 79 points. It truly is my miracle drink and has changed my life!

Since I had great results drinking it, I had my parents order it and my mom was able to get off her cholesterol medication, lower her A1C to 7.1 so far as well as lower her blood pressure. In addition, my father's cardiologist is impressed with his results and he wants to change to this supplement. I did so much research on this Health Shake an it's awesome for Diabetics, so I decided to become a consumer for the product. My goal is personally help diabetics take control of their health with proper nutrition and help inspire and motivate them to exercise regularly, so they can lower their A1C and cholesterol and make the most of the health.

If you are interested in getting my help, contact me and I will guide you to better health. I will help you with meal planning, exercise planning, and one on one coping. I am here for YOU!

Low Fat Diets Relate to Alzhiemer's Disease

Did you know that studies show low fat diets increase your risk of Alzheimer's Disease? Cholesterol plays a very important role for your brain to function properly; in fact, your brain contains 25% of your total cholesterol. Also, patients with Type 2 Diabetes are at greater risk of developing AD because they are prescribed STATINS (cholesterol lowering medication). This puts Diabetics at an increased risk 2 to 5 times greater for AD. Your body and brain both need HEALTHY fat, so don't skimp out on fats, instead choose healthy fat like avocado, olive oil, coconut oil. As a matter of fact, coconut oil is very beneficial for your brain because it is a type of fat that is easily converted into keytones, a great source of brain food. The same is said for for a diet high in carbohydrates.

The best thing you could do is live a lifestyle with a balanced diet consisting of healthy carbohydrates and healthy fats and get plenty of exercise. If you are diabetic, chances are your Doctor has you on statins to lower your cholesterol.

My suggestion is eat healthy and exercise to lower your cholesterol the proper way while still providing your brain the 25% it needs to function properly. If you really want to lower your cholesterol quickly and get the most nutrition for your body, drink Shakeology. This is how I got my cholesterol lower as well as many others who are now off all their medications.

Toning vs Bulking

Ladies...toning WILL NOT BULK you up; it is one of the best things you can do for your body. You would have to spend hours in the gym lifting heavy weights in order to bulk up.
Your metabolism has slowed down because you've lost muscle. The truth is lifting weights will speed up your metabolism and cause your body to burn more fat.

The idea is to lift  HEAVY weights to break down the muscle fibers. Then your body will repair the muscle and make you stronger with a little growth. Adding muscle to the body and decreasing your fat will make you look leaner not bulky. There is a big difference between definition and bulk, and you want definition!

Lifting a light weight for 8 to 12 reps will not get the job done. The proper way to get that sleek defined look is to lift HEAVY, because the idea is to challenge your muscles and keep lifting until it is too hard to lift another rep. If you use a light weight, you will be lifting all day to get that muscle tired, and I don't know about you, but I don't have time to lift all day. Therefore, lift heavy weights until you reach fatigue. If you can still lift another rep after 12 reps, you weights are too light. If you can't lift anymore reps before 8 reps, your weights are too heavy.
